We're back for our 4th FOFA! Join Heartwood at Hill Farmstead Brewery for some delicious local tacos and - our ever-popular - beer ice cream made with one of HF's very own brews.
Rural Vermont’s Community Conversation Tour will engage communities in dialogue about land use, livelihood, food, and the future of Vermont. At each of the Tour stops, Rural Vermont farmer-leaders and staff will present a vision for an agricultural economy in Vermont that delivers health and vitality to farmer, eater, soil, environment, and community alike.
Attendees will be invited to identify priorities, barriers, and pathways to systemic change at the individual, community, and statewide levels. Rural Vermont will use the results from all Tour events to shape its plan for moving Vermont towards this shared vision for a just agriculture and economy which serve all Vermonters and the land we inhabit.

Love to bake? Why not take your baking skills to the next level and create beautiful treats your family and friends will love? Day One: Cupcakes! Together, we’ll make carrot cake cupcakes and decorate them using a pastry bag + our own candied flowers. Day Two: Pie day! Each camper will make their own pie crust and use it to form an apple empanada + one fresh berry tart + a cinnamon roll. Day Three: Egg whites! Using whipped egg whites, we’ll make 3 classic treats: French macarons + Coconut macaroons + Meringue sculptures. Day Four: Crème Anglais! One recipe= 2 different desserts: Frozen custard (ice cream) + Crème brûlée. Day Five: Kids’ Choice! Our last day together will be spent working on a recipe of campers’ choice.
